We could not of asked for better winter weather for the wedding of Sally & Kevin, yes it was cold and in fact the lake was frozen solid but the winter sun and blue skies were such a bonus for a December wedding. As is often the case with my brides Sally had really done her research when it came to choosing her photographer, she is a keen photographer herself and this was one of the most important decisions for her wedding, as you can imagine she was delighted with the results. We took the first selection of outdoor shots on the jetty in front of the Lodore Falls and then we jumped in a 4×4 for the spectacular shots at Surprise View set up above the hotel. Personally I do love the black and white images of Sally inside the hotel. As you can the speeches also went well!

Lisa & Chris chose the Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge for their wedding and I think they made a great choice. Although most of our weddings are at Country House Hotels, the Swan is a gorgeous alternative. It is a larger hotel situated on the banks of a river and small marina, it is uniquely and fantastically furnished. I love its style and vibrant colours. It was a lovely warm day and as you can see we photographed a lovely selection of both naturally captured and posed shots. My personal favourites are the selection with the couple and their gorgeous little girl.

As Cumbria’s leading wedding photographers we are used to photographing weddings at some beautiful and amazing venues, but Blairquhan Castle in Ayrshire is certainly something special. Regarded by many as one of the top fifty venues in the world to be married, we were very excited about spending the day with Ruth & Thomas on such a wonderful occasion. But just when you thought it could not get any better you also find out that the wedding is fifties themed. Ruth had done a fantastic job in arranging so much incredible detail for the day, making it a dream for us as photographers. We photographed the wedding of Ruth’s sister a few years ago and so it was lovely to be back with their family once again and we would like to thank them all for allowing us to join them on such a special and memorable occasion
