We could not of asked for better winter weather for the wedding of Sally & Kevin, yes it was cold and in fact the lake was frozen solid but the winter sun and blue skies were such a bonus for a December wedding. As is often the case with my brides Sally had really done her research when it came to choosing her photographer, she is a keen photographer herself and this was one of the most important decisions for her wedding, as you can imagine she was delighted with the results. We took the first selection of outdoor shots on the jetty in front of the Lodore Falls and then we jumped in a 4×4 for the spectacular shots at Surprise View set up above the hotel. Personally I do love the black and white images of Sally inside the hotel. As you can the speeches also went well!

The wedding of Jess and Ian was held at St James’ Church in Carlisle, followed by The Greenhill Hotel for their reception. This is a combination of church and hotel that we really enjoy as there are so many opportunities for original and beautiful photography. As you can see we started off with Jess getting ready at home, this is always a lovely part of the day because of the excitement and emotion, it also allows us to catch some of the detail like the dress, shoes and flowers. After they were married, we took Jess & Ian away from their guests for ten minutes to take some modern posed pictures, but as is so often the case it’s the reportage natural pictures that truly capture the fun and emotion of the day. You were a lovely couple to be with and thanks for having us with you.
