As a photographer, the wedding of Lucie & Russell was certainly one of my favourites of the year.

Lucie was married in her village church and then returned to her parent’s beautiful garden next to the river for her reception. I love to be able to photograph a mix of venues during a wedding, especially when they are as beautiful as the marquee and church that Lucie and Russell chose. As you can see from my images below we have once again captured a lovely mix of modern elegant posed photography and those special natural moments that just happened, these moments need no intrusion or guidance from us but they do require a particular approach and skill to capture them. I particularly like the photographs that show Lucie’s dad seeing her for the first time and the pictures that show the emotion between Lucie and Russell in the church. The picture under that particular tree is a family tradition that Lucie and Russell have now followed and become part of, it was a pleasure to be with you both, thanks for the invite!

This was our first visit to the amazing Cartmel Priory and it certainly is a magnificent building. Hannah and Andrew really wanted their day to be as relaxed and fun as possible and it certainly was, as they and their guests shipped champagne at Hannah’s family home near Cartmel. As you can see, the couple had a wonderful marquee at the top of the garden and it was lovely to see them leading their guests up there for the wedding breakfast, with the lovely sound of the bag pipes ringing out in the early evening sun. We really enjoyed being with you on such a special day and would like to thank you again for allowing us to capture the day for you.

Hannah looked fantastic in her vintage style dress…

Andrew scrubbed up pretty well too…

After the ceremony the happy couple emerge in true military style…

We took advantage of the beautiful priory…

Hannah chose this beautiful part of the local coast line for these shots as she has fond memories of playing here as a child

Hannah had to fulfill a childhood pact, which was that she would wear wellies on her wedding day! They were no ordinary wellies however, thanks to her creative friend!

The guys looked great in their uniforms…

Hannah and her girls….

As the sun began to set, Hannah and Andrew led their guests to the marquee for their banquet …
