Katherine & Chris first came to see me about their wedding photography about 18 months ago and from the moment they booked it, I knew I would enjoy being their photographer, as they really are such a lovely couple. Katherine is a vet and Chris a doctor, but I managed not to mention any of mine or my dog’s ailments throughout the whole wedding (it was difficult), but they assured me that it is what people always seem to do! Katherine was very keen to get outside to use the wonderful panoramic views of the lakes as the back drop for her wedding pictures, however, the lakes being the lakes meant that it poured down almost all day. Amazingly, just as the couple were about to enter for their wedding breakfast it stopped. I was in a bit of a dilemma as the guests were seated and we all know what chefs are like, but at Katherine’s request we ran out side for just 5 minutes and managed to capture some beautiful shots that we are sure they will treasure for life.

We are very fortunate in that we do tend to photograph some of the nicest weddings in Cumbria and the wedding of Hayley & David was certainly no exception. The combination of a lovely couple, glorious sunshine, Greystoke Castle, a Bakerwood Marquee and a helicopter, left us feeling like children in a sweet shop (as you might be able to tell)! Greystoke castle really is a wonderful venue and I love to work there, but then being able to move on to Hayley’s parent’s beautiful home in Dalston was a real treat. Hayley & David really know how to travel in style and would like to personally thank family friend Malcolm Wilson, for the use of his fantastic helicopter. We would like to thank Hayley and David for allowing us to record the story of their fantastic day.

The reception was held in a stunning Bakerwood Marquee, the staff were exceptional (as always) and the dancing continued late into the night.

There was quite a buzz when we arrived at Elysha’s house to photograph the girls getting ready. Elysha hadn’t shown anyone (except mum) her wedding dress and everyone was trying to catch a sneaky glimpse! It was simply gorgeous and everyone was gobsmacked when they saw her! There has been quite a trend lately of brides buying stunning dresses from ‘I Do’ in Cockermouth and hers was no different… They were married at Our Lady and St Michael’s church in Workington, which was absolutely stunning, then had their reception at Hunday Manor Hotel at Windscales. The weather turned out to be lovely and everyone enjoyed the afternoon in the beautiful gardens at the hotel.
